What limits freedom

Too much of self-reliant action rather limits freedom. This is the same for individuals and organizations. If company tells you to spend your annual leaves as much as you want in the office, no one will be able to use it as much as they like to use because you're too cautious. The more professional a person is, the more so. Rather, it is more efficient to provide appropriate guidelines and make them use them as mandates.

It's definitely better to interfere little and be free than to have complicated rules, but it's too chaotic without minimum rules. If you are a manager, you need to do proper macro control, even if you don't have to do micro control. It is the leader's ability to find this righteousness and appropriateness and bring out the best efficiency. There is no particular answer for this because the situation differs so much from one organization to organization. I have no choice but to look for it myself.

Limiting freedom is also good for creativity. Twitter founder Biz Stone said, "Creativity comes from limitations." In fact, Twitter has limited the number of characters and created a culture of only Twitter. If there are not many restrictions, the degree of selective fatigue is high and prone to laxity. Don't go to the restaurant and say "Anything". Appropriate restrictions are always essential.
